Fat Basset Design is a graphic design studio that believes in challenging our clients to think differently about design.

In following this belief we'll deliver unique, daring and creative design results to every project set before us. Our specialty lies in package design and brand identity design, but can also serve as collaborators for project overflow or ideation for your in-house creative team.

At Fat Basset Design our goal is to create an environment that makes certain our clients not only enjoy the process of working with us but in the end are well educated about graphic design itself. Throughout the design process we look to ignite positive dialogue that will create connections and have a lasting impact well after the project is completed.

If any of that sounds like something that would feed your appetite, drop us a line. Every project begins with a discussion so this is the best place to start.

Some Background

Fat Basset Design was started by me, Jim Dumas, a graphic designer with 20 years of experience in the creative field. During that time I found it an honor and a privilege to work alongside so much talent on various creative teams, where the experiences helped shape my ability to create strong visual concepts, while sharpening my focus for design principles. This long-time experience, coupled with a desire to take chances and break the mold, led me to start Fat Basset Design in 2016.

Why the name Fat Basset Design?

The name Fat Basset Design comes from my basset hound, Josie. She was a fun loving, roundish little dog who's personality kept me smiling long after I walked out the door each day. In 2014 Josie developed cancer and required surgery to have it removed. Unfortunately it returned in 2015. However my wife and I felt it more important to maintain Josie’s quality of life, rather than put her through more surgeries, and more poking and prodding that would scare Josie and cause her more pain. Through it all, Josie's spirit remained as strong as her ability to keep us laughing endlessly.

Sadly, Josie passed away on February 25, 2016. Although physically she may be gone, she remains in our hearts, as well in our memories. And Fat Basset Design is one of the many ways of keeping her memory and spirit alive.

Let’s Work Together

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to take your current business and push it forward. Or maybe you have a creative concept and you’re just not sure where to start. Whatever it is, every project begins with a discussion, so this is the best place to start.
